For the first time, our beloved Festival Iminente went overseas to the shores of the United Kingdom. We wanted to bring the soul of Lisbon to the heart of London and to communicate this idea in our materials for the festival. Just like last year, the visual identity is bold, colourful and fun, a reflection of the vibrant city it comes from.
Despite the breaking up of the European Union, we wanted to assure our British friends that we were still that, friends. There’s no bad feelings there, we just wanted them to dance and experience some Portuguese flavour that isn’t Nandos piri-piri. We created a Shakespearean video for the event, along with flyers, posters and some GIFs to give the Londoners a little insight into the artists and musicians that will be there.
Solid Dogma is proud to unify the fields of art, branding and culture in our work, and taking Festival Iminente to London was a unique experience in creating a visual language that speaks specifically to one city, namely one of the world’s most important cultural hubs.
Our intention to create distinctive work that can be understood in environments with so much else going on is testament to what we are trying to embody and develop – a new universe of relationships between communication and art. Working with our sister companies Vhils Studio and Underdogs on this integrated project gives us the ability to approach the it from a holistic perspective to create something that is as stimulating for us to work on as for the audience to engage with.
